Farming News & Events

News and Events of interest to the farming community
The new site marks a huge leap forward for Farming Futures by finally allowing us to get you, our audience, directly involved in our work. Our goal is to provide our visitors with a captivating and interactive experience in examining agriculture and climate change. All our original and popular content is still available but we’ve added new features, information and links to keep you up to date with the latest happenings in the industry.

Our new site is easier to navigate, as the information is separated into sectors or areas of interest, and there’s also lots more interactive content too. Our films and diagrams are a great place to start looking for information and inspiration and our blog is a dedicated place for farmers and industry experts to explore and share ideas about the future of farming. In creating the new site we’ve really focused on highlighting important news and events likely to be of interest to you and our new Google map also allows you to find case studies, events and relevant groups in your area.

We hope that you will take the opportunity to explore the new website in the coming weeks and give us your views. Please get in contact and let us know of interesting events and projects that you think should be on the site.

There are two new video case studies on the site, as well as a new film showing why understanding climate change is good for your business.
We released our annual survey results today, which track farmer opinions on climate change. You can find out more about the results by looking in our News section.
We have a brand new factsheet - Factsheet No 1, 'Food, energy and the future of farming'. You can find it in the Resources section.
The blog
How can we produce more food for a growing population in the context of Government targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, hotter, drier summers, higher energy and input prices, and the increased consumer interest in 'low carbon' food?

We believe that a profitable future for the agricultural sector depends on responding to the climate change challenge with ideas, innovation, planning and leadership. The Farming Futures blog is your place to take part in and generate debate and discussion among the farming community.

Take a look at the blogs that have already been posted: Some are from farmers experimenting with new management techniques that can reduce emissions, environmental impacts, and often costs too. There are many more of you out there, and we want to hear from you.

If you’re interested in writing a blog please contact me on or 020 7324 3682.
