15Aug2010: Cottage Farm Open Day
15Aug2010: Cottage Farm Open Day
Cottage Farm
Open Day
As part of the National Superhomes scheme (www.Superhomes.org.uk), Cottage Farm will be opening its doors to the public again on 15th August 2010.
Cottage Farm is an organic sustainable farm raising native breeds and selling produce locally. It is powered by renewable energy with almost no use of fossil fuels, having reduced its carbon emissions by 70% so far (as assessed by the Cornwall Sustainable Building Trust), but aiming at carbon neutral living and farming. We are also of course actively engaged in the Transition process.
Visitors will be able to see and ask questions about
· the various energy saving steps taken
· the various methods of renewable energy generation employed and its benefits
· the organic farming methods, localised sustainable food production and carbon free deliveries of Cottage Farm fresh meat boxes.
· We may also discuss the Superhomes charity and Transition Movement and its contribution to increasing local resilience in North Cornwall.
