In working with sheep a well trained working sheepdog is the shepherds’ best option for ease of work load and the saving of time. These dogs go about their daily work with a cheerful spirit and instinctive anxiety to please which enables the shepherd to carry out his work confidently.
A good working sheepdog can think for itself by sizing up a situation and acting upon it often before the shepherd has become aware of a problem. A good sheepdog will keep the welfare of the sheep in its mind in the same way as does the shepherd.
