Inspired and Wild

Cornwall Wildlife Trust is holding an Art Exhibition this autumn, entitled 'Inspired and Wild: Celebrating Cornwall's Art and Wildlife', and are calling out for local artists to submit their work for this fundraising event. The exhibition is an exciting opportunity to celebrate the work of the Cornwall Wildlife Trust and the wealth of artistic talent in Cornwall.

It will tour a range of diverse venues around the length and breadth of the county, from the Cornish Studies Library in Redruth to Geevor Tin Mine in Pendeen. The exhibition will run from the beginning of October 2009 and will continue until the end of January 2010.

Serena Pettigrew-Collins, Marketing and Fundraising Co-ordinator at Cornwall Wildlife Trust, says "We really look forward to receiving a diverse selection of work from the fantastic range of artistic talent in Cornwall. The beautiful wildlife and stunning scenery in Cornwall inspires great artwork, and we are proud to represent this in what we believe will be an outstanding exhibition, which will raise all important funds to enable to the Trust continue its work."

The Cornwall Wildlife Trust selection panel would like to encourage contemporary 2-dimensional artwork in any medium, based on or representing Natural Cornwall and its wildlife, with a particular interest in biodiversity. The committee will consider work that shares the aims and concerns of the Trust and evokes an experience or understanding of Cornwall's wildlife. Any artwork that is selected for the exhibition will be made available for sale to the public, with 40% of the proceeds going to the Trust as a donation.

The deadline for images is the 21st August 2009, and for further information, an application form and a copy of the rules please contact Cornwall Wildlife Trust by email , send a stamped self addressed envelope to Cornwall Wildlife Trust, Five Acres, Allet, Truro, Cornwall TR4 9JD or visit the website where you can download the forms.
