Feed-in tariff rates from 1 April 2014

Feed-in tariff rates from 1 April announced

Posted by Cathy Debenham on 20 February 2014

The new feed-in tariffs from 1 April 2014 are now available. For new applicants after that date the rate will degress (reduce) for the first time since July last year. New installations of 4kW or less will get 14.38p per kWh. Existing recipients of the feed-in tariff will get their annual cost of living increase.

The feed-in tariff rates for existing recipients have been lifted by 2.7% (the current retail price index, RPI). If you installed before 1 August 2012 the export rate will increase to 3.39p per kWh exported; systems installed since that date will rise to 4.77p per kWh.

To find out what rate of generation tariff you will get next year click on the relevant link below, which will take you to a very complicated table. To find what you're looking for you need to know the date your system was installed and what size it is in kW. For solar PV you also need to know whether you receive the higher, middle or lower rate. Most private domestic installations will be on the higher rate. The middle rate is for bulk installations, and anyone couldn't achieve an EPC band D will get the lower rate. Get your magnifying glass out, and good luck finding out your rate! If you're struggling, ask in the comment section below and we'll try and help.
