Beach cleaning: Bude, Widemouth Bay

Keep Britain Tidy are running a new project surveying and beach cleaning in Cornwall, with an aim to campaign against the causes of beach litter. We are working in partnership with Cornwall Council, the Environment Agency, Visit Cornwall and South West Water.

The project has been running for six months to great success. We now have over seventy volunteers who get involved every month and have completed 22 beach cleans. We are currently working on Porthtowan, Polzeath, Bude (Summerleaze & Crooklets) and Widemouth Bay with a view to expand to other Cornish beaches next month.

Please see this link for more information.

We are looking for more volunteer groups to get involved at their local beach. So if your business or organisation would like to get involved please get in touch - neil.hembrow@keepbritaintidy.org

We provide all the training, support and equipment you will need. So contact us for more information on how to get involved.

We would appreciate some support to keep up the good work on the beaches and to keep the volunteers motivated and coming back. Could your business offer us some prizes for a group or sponsorship of a group? We would love to hear from you.

Collectively our Volunteers have already given 200 hours of their time to keep Cornwall's beaches clean, if you want to be kept up-to-date on our activities please contact me and I'll keep you in the picture.

Thankyou
Neil
