Timetable for The Wave

The Wave fun looks set to start way before 12 noon on 5th December, with bike rides setting off a week before and feeder events happening right up to the big day.

Groups will be meeting all over London ready to flow towards Grosvenor Square for the Wave.

4th December: the eve of the Wave!
6.30pm:

Bolivian indigenous leaders will discuss taking action on climate change, before joining CAFOD, Christian Aid and Oxfam on The Wave the following day. University College London, Darwin Lecture Theatre. More info: Bolivian Info Forum or email enquiries@boliviainfoforum.org.uk
8pm:

ActionAid are bringing their young activists together the evening before The Wave, in a ‘Bollocks to Poverty’ youth party. More info:

5th December: The Wave
9am:

London Cycling Campaign are organizing bike rides to The Wave from around London, including some linking with the Climate Emergency mass bike ride between 9am and 11am. More info: London Cycling Campaign.
9.30am:

A synagogue service, organised by the Movement for Reform Judaism and Liberal Judaism will be held at West London Synagogue, W1H 5AU. More info soon at: Big Green Jewish.
9.45am:

Moishe House and New London Synagogue are holding a Shacharit (or morning prayer) service at New London Synagogue, NW8 0AT, participants will set out to join The Wave at 12pm. More info: Big Green Jewish
10am:

Climate emergency bike ride: assembles at Lincolns Inn fields and ends at the Climate Emergency Rally in Hyde Park – see below.

Ecumenical service with Archbishop Rowan Williams and Vincent Nichols at Westminster Central Hall, SW1H. More info: CAFOD, Tearfund or Christian Aid.
11.30am:

A health professionals (The Campaign for Greener Healthcare, Climate & Health Council, Medact, Medsin) feeder event with speakers followed by a photo op at Royal College of Nursing, W1G 0RN.

12 noon:

Splashdance! The first of a series of mass flash dances aka Splashdances will start from 12 in Grosvenor Square and happen every half hour on the march until everyone will be at it by 2.30pm! Before coming, try to learn the Splashdance, and there will also be friendly instructors on the day to help you learn. Find the bike stereos playing Galvanize by the Chemical Brothers to find the dances!

There will also be lots of entertainment for those assembling in Grosvenor Square between 12 and 1pm before setting off.
1pm:

The Wave leaves Grosvenor Square on it's way to Parliament!
1.30pm, 2pm, 2.30pm:

Splashdance! The first of the Splashdances during the march will kick off at 1.30, and then further dances go off every half hour after that. Find the bike stereos playing Galvanize to find your nearest dance (or keep your eyes peeled for people throwing shapes!)
3pm:

Everyone in The Wave will be part of a blue encirclement of Parliament.
From 5.30pm

NUS are organising a party after The Wave at LSE Union, WC2A 2AE. The event will begin at 5:30pm, but will be open from 3.30pm. It will finish at 9:00pm, but attendees are welcome to attend the LSE nightclub that evening for a discounted rate. Flyer at the bottom of the page, for more info email j.p.rowley[at]lse.ac.uk.
Also, Unison, the Women’s Institute, Woodland Trust and The Wildlife Trusts will be hosting events to bring their members together before flowing towards The Wave.
