Food is Free - theme for 2016

2015 was our “Save our Seed” year. During that time we allowed certain plants to flower and set seeds (onions, leeks, lettuce, beans etc).
We harvested, dried and packaged them so that we would have something to offer you in 2016.
This year is our “Food is Free” themed year, we want you to get enthusiastic about doing this for yourself, so take a packet or two, grow the plants and harvest your own seed!
We have tested the seeds and they all seem to have good viability.
So come along to see us at the Celebration of local food and growing event:…/annual-celebration…/
We are having a seed swap at the same time so bring along your half used packets and pick up something interesting. We should also have some plants available.

Volunteers ...... are always welcome to join our ‘growing’ team! If you can spare a few hours (enthusiasm is the only requirement!) please contact us on 01822 820345 or email Sue.

Devon New Economy Gathering - 16th April 2016 - Exeter (10:00 to 17:00)

Save the date ... What kind of economy will promote well-being, for all, in a fair and sustainable way? The way our economy is organized affects everyday life; food, debt, taxes, energy prices, banks, public services – choices about these involve values, and shouldn’t be left to ‘experts’. But how can we speak in a simple and relevant way about these? And get involved locally in building better systems?

Climate Matters

People across the area ... and even a holidaymaker from Transition Liverpool ... joined us at the end of January for a wonderful event where everyone had a chance to participate in saying why climate change matters here, and how different organisations might link up to tackle it. A number of those who came had not previously been involved in action groups, or aware of Transition Tavistock, but felt this was an issue too important to ignore.

A summary, and some ideas on next steps, will be available for the next newsletter ...

Thanks to everyone who helped, came along, and made it possible.
