Buckland Monachorum Neighbourhood Plan and Community Energy development
Buckland Monachorum Parish is developing a Neighbourhood Plan (see below) and exploring the local potential for energy generation.
Community Energy Generation Feasibility Study

A presentation was given by DARE at the Buckland Monachorum Parish Meeting on 8th April 2015 to introduce the Buckland Monachorum Feasibility Study for Community energy generation. This is being funded by a £20,000 grant funded by the Rural Community Energy Fund. The presentation was well received.

Housing Day

A Housing Day was held on 28th March 2015. This was a very interesting day, well attended by 120 residents.

The event included an opportunity to find out more about the Residential Development aspects of the Neighbourhood Plan including Dartmoor National Park's Self Build Initiative - Dartmoor National Park Vanguard Project.
Transition Tavistock provided information on Energy Efficiency.

The Neighbourhood Plan is beginning to take shape

Evidence has been gathered by Survey (over 475 returned), an AONB sponsored event in Crapstone and two recent and well supported ‘days’ on housing and the environment.

The Plan has four sections:

Residential Development
Economic Development
A more detailed account is available here or from the Parish Council website.
