Cornwall Council are working on their budget for next year and also looking ahead to be prepared for further cuts. Since 2010 they have had to find savings of £170m, largely due to a significant reduction in the amount of funding they received from central government. They expect a further reduction in government funding which will require a similar level of savings over the next four years. They want to hear from as many people as possible about where they think they should make cuts to services, how they can make savings and what they should do to increase their income. Initially you can let them know your views by attending one of their budget events across Cornwall. The Penzance event has already happened but the other two Penwith events (in Hayle and St Ives) take place this week.

Rachel Lambert is running various seasonal Wild Food Foraging events between October 13 and December 1. Take a look at her website for more details.
