Agrarian Renaissance

An Alternative to Corporate Supermarket Consumerism
farmers and people coming together to create food and farming enterprises that enhance life

A people's anti-brand based on farms...
We have been plotting the Agrarian Renaissance for two years, learning what is necessary to create an alternative to corporate supermarket consumerism by doing it, at Church Farm, Ardeley

We have a plan to create an honest, diverse, people-owned, farm-based, anti-brand that can become a rival to the supermarkets... starting from nothing... in months not years... simply by saying it is so...

This is based on a rationale for action and a case for change which leave no room for doubt. We have to act now to create food and farming enterprises that enhance life, based on:

- farming that is biologically and ecologically sound;
- food that is nutritious, healthy and tasty;
- welfare standards that respect our ancient contract with domesticated animals;
- beneficial interactions and synergies with the surrounding economy and culture;
- a great livelihood for all those involved in food, farming and the rural economy in general
- a landscape and pattern of life that is enriching, resilient, sustainable and appealing.
This is possible. We have a plan for how to create an alternative but we can't promise anything.

What we need is for people, conscious customers, farmers, landowners and entrepreneurs, to join together to make it happen, to take action, become pioneers of the Agrarian Renaissance and create a better future for all of us, now.
