coach and train to The Wave

Bude FoE group are looking at getting a coach from Bude - contact Mary Whibley (cc'd in this)mary.whibley@googlemail.com

Saltash EA are considering a coach from Saltash, with possible pick up in Liskeard - contact roger@crosborne.co.uk

Both would leave about 06:30 and both would cost about £20 max

I just need expressions of interest at this stage so we can decide whether to confirm the booking and sell tickets.

If you are thinking of organising something from further West the cost for a 49 seater should be about £900

TRAIN:

The first train of the day leaves Penzance at 0650 and arrives Paddington 1225 (unfortunately the earlier Golden Hind does not operate on Saturdays).

This should just about give us time to take the Circle Line to Westminster by 1pm. The last train leaves Paddington at 1806 (6:06pm) and arrives Penzance at 2327 (11:27pm). There is also an earlier train at 1706 (5:06pm) which arrives at Penzance at 2242 (10:42pm). Trains call at St Erth,
Camborne (but not the 1706 from Paddington) Redruth, Truro, St Austell, Bodmin Parkway and Liskeard.

The Super Off Peak Return (which is valid all day on Saturday) is £83, children aged 5-15 £41.50. Children under 5 go free. For groups of 10 or more travelling together these fares are reduced by 26% - Adults £61.40, Children 5-15 £30.70.

However, there is an offer called ‘Group Save’. This allows 4 adults to travel at a total cost of £166, so that works out at £41.50 per person and in addition up to four children can travel with them for an extra £1 each.

You can include a one day Transport for London Travelcard (unlimited travel on Bus and Underground) for the Group for only an extra £10.

Book in advance rail tickets on my fares database that start as low as £15 return – but it is impossible to tell whether these will be available until you book as there is a quota for each train (just like the cheap airlines do, who have a habit of comparing their quota controlled
cheap fares with the more expensive turn up and go rail fares – apples and pears!).
