5-6 Oct2013: Boscastle Food, Art and Craft Festival

This year’s Boscastle Food, Art and Craft Festival will be taking place on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 October 2013. We're honoured and delighted that James Strawbridge, TV chef, sustainable living expert and co-star of The Hungry Sailors will be opening the Festival.

Village events
As in previous years, the event will take place by the main Boscastle car park at the head of the gorgeous Valency Valley. The Festival will warm up with an Opening Night barn dance on Thursday, 3rd October and finish with the hugely popular Sunday concert.Tickets are £3 – held at last year’s price.

We’re excited that there will be 12 chefs taking part in cookery demos during the two days, including four who’ve not appeared before and a number of high profile and well known local chefs, some of whom boast Michelin stars and AA Rosettes.

All the stands in the Food tent have already been booked and we’ve had a lot of interest from new artists and craftspeople, who will be joining our stalwarts in the Arts and Crafts marquee.

Never content to rest on our laurels, this year we're launching The Green Scene, a series of fun, interactive events for all ages that will happen along the bank of the River Valency. You can even bring along your own apples for pressing......

As a community event, the Festival represents some of the wide range of talents and interests around the village.

In the run-up to the Festival, Stephen Marsh, Head Chef at Boscastle’s own Wellington Hotel is putting together a monthly, seasonal recipe for you to test your culinary skills at home. This month, he’s showing us how to make Megrim Sole & Seedlings - Cornish New Potatoes - Sea Beet - Capers - Vanilla – Lemon – Caviar

Boscastle Food, Arts and Crafts Festival – 5th and 6th October 2013. Saturday 10am- 5pm, Sunday 10am – 4pm. Tickets : adults £3, children free. We regret that pushchairs are not allowed in the marquee for health and safety reasons. Similarly, no dogs - except guide dogs - are allowed.
