27Aug2011: Ask the Expert live in Start@Kew festival

Ask the Expert live in Start@Kew festival

We are thrilled to announce that the GBR Campaign will be hosting a live Ask The Experts (http://www.greatbritishrefurb.co.uk/ask-the-experts) panel at Prince Charles' Start@Kew event at Kew Gardens on Saturday 27th August. Start is an initiative of The Prince's Charities Foundation to promote and celebrate sustainable living. From the 25-29 August at Kew, the initiative will be bringing visitors to the gardens to fill up on plenty of fresh ideas to help them get started which is where people like us come in!

Our GBR panel will be there from 3:30pm to 4:30pm on Saturday to answer all things eco-refurb related no matter how big or small. But we need your help too. We want to get the live panel off to a good start with some thought-provoking questions and we would like you to submit your head-scratchers online to do so. To help get those creative juices flowing we will give the person with the best question a pair of free tickets to the event. So what's stopping you? Submit your question to our experts. Good luck!

PS: Did you know that if you travel to Kew by train you can get a great 2 for 1 entrance deal? Find out more: http://www.daysoutguide.co.uk/royal-botanic-gardens-kew

The Big Forest Picnic
And in case you still need another weekend activity here is another suggestion: join WWF UK, Visit Woods and Progressio to join the Big Forest Picnic in a wood near you on Saturday 20 August (this week!).
Bring a picnic, bring your friends and help celebrate forests around the world. You can find your nearest Big Forest Picnic event here: http://www.wwf.org.uk/what_we_do/campaigning/what_wood_you_choose/big_fo...

If you want some reading material for the train ride to Kew or on your way to the picnic, read our recent blogs on my other role as a property developer (!) or what happened to the Energy Bill or why is installing solid wall is not always so easy or watch our animation on insulation.

And if you're done a home energy makeover or some bits of eco-refurb at home, don't forget to send us your stories

Enjoy,

Simon McWhirter
