12Jun2011: Open Farm Sunday

Also ...
-----------------------------------
Just a quick reminder that this Sunday is Open Farm Sunday when farms up and down the country throw open their farm gates and let the public in to see how their food is grown and to get a better idea of how farmers manage the land in their care.

We at Quarry Bank near Redruth have participated for several years, and will be open for visits between 11.00 and 16.00. Cream teas will be available!

Whilst at 9 acres we are small fry compared to most farms, nevertheless we have a great diversity of habitats and species, including a wetland area where orchids are reaching their flowering peak! All welcome - bring the family - and mention it to your guests/colleagues/clients.

Check out our details (and those of other participants in Cornwall) on the Open Farm Sunday website:-

Following the earlier email, just a quick reminder that this Sunday is Open Farm Sunday when farms up and

their care.

At the other end of the county, Markwell farm near Landrake is also open for the day from 11am - 4pm. We have participated for several years too.

Our 400 acre farm will hold something for everyone: shearing, working dogs, animals, vintage and modern machinery, farm walks and of course refreshments. Admission is free and there is plenty of parking so we look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
