11-26Sep2010: Making Saltash Greener

Saltash-in-Transition is running a fortnight long "Making Saltash Greener" transition festival from 11th to 26th September with events most days.

Whilst primarily aimed at raising awareness in the town friends and supporters would be most welcome at any of the events - in particular our opening day Sat 11th involves a musical parade across the Tamar Bridge from Plymouth to Saltash to a brief opening ceremony at which our Third Birthday cake will be cut and consumed (doubtless those nearest the front will get the biggest slices !).
Following this there is Music in the Street and a Pedal Parade up and down Fore Street.

It would be fabulous to see many friends from out of town join us for this particular event - if you have noise makers (whether musical or merely voovoozela style) bring them along for the march.

If you have a bicycle (or other pedal powered conveyance) bring it along and ring your bell across the bridge and join in the Pedal Parade to get some low carbon transport onto our streets.

And afterwards explore the wide range of local shops we have before the current Tesco plans go through...lots of good locally source and locally run businesses.

Frequent trains from the West to Saltash (or get a bus out to Pemros Road for the bridge from Plymouth) - hope to see many of you on the day.

Events are also in the CCCF Green Cornwall Calendar http://www.cornwallclimateforum.co.uk/calendar.htm as seen on all good Cornish websites!
