Transition to Resilience: program

Transition to Resilience Event: 4th March 2010 County Hall 6:00pm.

Partnership Event between Cornwall Council and Transition Cornwall Network; working together for a vibrant, local, low carbon future for.

This event follows the successful One Cornwall: One Planet evening held in November 2008. It was intended that a follow up would happen mid 2009 but time was needed for the new Council to establish itself.

The programme in 2008 consisted of 4 short talks, followed by small discussion groups identifying practical and policy actions for a resilient Cornwall, finally the feedback at the end of the evening summarised proposals for the Council to follow up.

The event of 2010 will follow a similar format with the short talks including a summary from Cornwall Council on developments from the 2008 proposals and a report from Stephen Cirrell on Green Cornwall. The discussion groups this time are intended to formulate specific targets
for all partners to commit to.

Although there are only 4 weeks to March 4th it is important to fit the event in before Easter and the Election frenzy. Please come and ensure that we work effectively together for the future health and resilience of Cornwall.

Proposed programme:
6:00: refreshments.
6:30: Council Chambers for short talks:

*Talk by Mike East CC on activities since OneCornwall/OnePlanet event.

*Cornwall Launch of The Green Up Guide (produced by The Community Development Trust.)

*Stephen Cirrell on Green Cornwall.

*Short films by Penwith Youth Forum.

7:15: Discussion Groups
8:15: Council Chambers for feedback
9:00: disperse.
