St Dennis incinerator decision to be challenged

Cornwall Waste Forum St Dennis Branch, has now acquired itself a bank account with Lloyds bank St Austell. And have also got a very good lawyer to look after the protect.
CWF SD need as much funding as they can so as to save us all from this monstrosity.

I would ask you all can you send on this to as many people as you can around the Duchy. Or any other information that we give out to you.

Subject: Meeting and update report.

Hi All,

Many thanks for your attendance and donations received last evening. Many people attended from further afield and we thank them for that support. Good show by all, with most excellent and concise statements. The exception was cabinet members who continued to treat our community with contempt and treating us as fools while ignoring their constitutional responsibilities.
The political arrogance of the leader of the council certainly shows why he is increasingly becoming unpopular by his colleagues at county hall and indeed people across the whole county. He continues to become an embarrassment to any form of democracy and leadership. Surely his time is numbered, we cannot tolerate such an embarrassment. Absolute lies and
incorrect explanations were nothing short of treachery of the poorest standard. Answers highlighted the fact that cabinet members German,Robertson and Hicks were not aware of certain elements of the waste contract which they are basing their judgement on. Cllr German not remembering whether he has circulated a very relevant letter from the HPA, it did highlight a restraint against incineration, or not, what incompetence, what a farce.

Cabinet members present were left in no doubt as to what this community thinks of their continued support for the incinerator, we do not want compromise, nothing sort of cancelling the contract with SITA will do. Many good statements were made by the community including some from councillors attending as members of the public. The standard of decorum conducted under extreme provocation was a credit to the community.

It has been confirmed that the council's corporate and cabinet level have been made aware that there significant reasons for challenging the Secretary of State's decision, sadly they have decided not to take that action. Corporate officers and cabinet members should hang their heads on shame.

We will be pursuing barristers advice on the positives of our many issues regarding the Secretary of State's decision which could be challenged. If this proves positive we will be seeking significant funding to enable us to then challenge the decision through the legal system. This will certainly depend on our and your contributions and fund raising. We will not cease pursuing our campaign goals until all avenues have been explored and exhausted, this can only be done with your help.

This is a public statement please feel free to circulate as you wish.

Regards,

Ken Rickard,
Chair of Cornwall Waste Forum St.Dennis Branch.
