Why vote for MK

In my view, here in Cornwall, there is only one sensible choice of party to vote for and that is Mebyon Kernow, The Party for Cornwall and here is why:

Although the LibDems like to be seen as the new force for change, the truth is that none of the major parties have policies in place to counteract Peak Oil and the consequent mass switch from fossil to renewable energy and the inevitable extremely serious consequences for all of us. In practice it will make no difference which of the major parties gain control and form a Government because Peak Oil means that sustained economic Growth is over and that means no way out of our national debt, let alone converting our energy infrastructure to renewables.

On the other hand, and this is the major point, MK do have policies for re-localisation to Cornwall and shift to local resilience.

Here in Cornwall we are blessed with ample natural sources of renewable energy, which can be captured and used to substitute for all fossil fuels. That means gaining resilience in the face of world energy shortages and increasing world energy prices. It makes Cornwall potentially one of the most prosperous areas of Europe - but only if we here in Cornwall control these resources through the establishment of a Cornish Assembly and through gaining as much independence as possible. And that is precisely what Mebyon Kernow is all about.

Together with our food production and tourism, renewable energy allows Cornwall to be financially independent of the UK and to achieve relatively high standards of sustainable living for all the people of Cornwall.

MK is working to getting its first one or two MPs elected in this election. The more votes cast for MK, the more likely and the faster we are likely to achieve the goal of Cornish Assembly and taking control of Cornish affairs.

Now go and vote for Mebyon Kernow!
